When Dr. Maya Bennett approached me to help evolve her maternal nutrition practice, she was facing a common challenge in the wellness space: how to honor both clinical expertise and holistic traditions in a way that felt cohesive and authentic.


What began as a clinical nutrition practice had evolved into something more comprehensive—an approach that honored both evidence-based nutritional science and the ancient wisdom of nourishment. But her brand wasn't reflecting this unique integration.

The name 'Gaia' draws from Greek mythology, where Gaia was the primordial Earth goddess and universal mother. Like the goddess who brought forth life and created order from chaos, Dr. Bennett guides women through the transformative journey of creating and nurturing new life.


This metaphor became central to our strategic approach, informing everything from messaging to visual direction.


Defining Purpose and Vision

Through our strategic discovery, we crafted a purpose statement that would guide all brand decisions:

"Gaia exists to guide women through the transformative journey from preconception to motherhood by providing personalized nutritional wisdom that honors both scientific understanding and ancient traditions, creating foundations for thriving families and vibrant communities."

This purpose became the north star for all our strategy work, ensuring every element supported this central mission.

Our competitive analysis revealed several key opportunities for differentiation:


  1. Credentials + Wisdom: Unlike many holistic practitioners, Dr. Bennett brings full clinical credentials alongside respect for traditional wisdom, offering the best of both worlds.

  2. Science + Soul: While clinical nutritionists focus solely on physiological outcomes and many holistic practitioners emphasize only emotional aspects, Gaia integrates both dimensions.

  3. Research + Tradition: Rather than pitting scientific research against traditional practices, Gaia actively explores their intersection, creating bridges between seemingly disparate approaches.


This positioning allows Gaia to appeal to women who might otherwise feel torn between conventional medical approaches and more holistic alternatives.

With positioning established, we developed a comprehensive messaging framework with the core message:
